As part of #AAM2021, we are excited to introduce a host of new functions, features, and events that will help bring the energy of our in-person meeting to a virtual conference and create an incredible experience for all participants.

Be inspired by, learn from, and connect with our colleagues across the field at #AAM2021.

Education & Inspiration

Our robust program includes two keynotes, four elevate stage sessions, over eighty concurrent sessions, and over thirty poster presentations to inspire you and give you the skills to help you and your museum build resiliency as we recover from the impacts of the pandemic together. The full program will be announced in the coming weeks. Plan ahead with our schedule-at-a-glance!

MuseumExpo

Discover the latest technologies in the museum field and learn from the experts who are developing new services and products to help museums address their shifting needs and the needs of their communities. At #AAM2021, you will be able to use Smart-Match Appointments to ensure you save time while you search, and engage in live chat and video calls with exhibitors.

Networking Lounge

Enter the #AAM2021 Networking Lounge to gain access to our platform’s extensive chat functionalities. Look up other attendees and exhibitors to make new connections and set up chats or 1:1 video calls!

Networking Events

Meet, exchange ideas, and create long-lasting connections with colleagues across the world at any of our themed networking events, including one theme decided by you–our attendees! As a registered attendee, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in the opening event and choose one of the three themed networking events. Themes will be announced when pre-event registration opens April 15. All networking events require pre-registration and are free to #AAM2021 registrants. Space is limited and attendees are encouraged to register early and update their registrations in the registration resource center on or after April 15 with their event selections.

Coaching Pilot Program

As part of #AAM2021, we are excited to pilot a small new virtual coaching program. Attendees will be able to indicate their interest in participating in this pilot during their registration process. Of those who indicate an interest in participating, 50 attendees will be selected at random to receive a coaching session with one of our coaches, including: Christy Coleman, Executive Director of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation; Elaine Gurian, Consultant and Advisor; Johnnetta Cole, Former Director of the National Museum of African Art and former president of Spelman and Bennett Colleges; Lori Fogarty, Executive Director of the Oakland Museum of California; and Joanne Jones-Rizzi, Vice President of Science, Equity, and Education at the Science Museum of Minnesota. If you are interested in participating in this pilot program, register for #AAM2021 before April 1 and indicate your interest in the space provided while completing your registration.*

Smart-Match Appointments

Save time by connecting with exhibitors through smart matching appointments that ensure the exhibitor you’re connecting with serves your needs and region.

Discussion Groups

Join any of a number of themed discussion groups based on your areas of interest throughout the conference.

eBag

Use your eBag to easily save the material you collect over the course of the conference. Collect contact information from new colleagues, handouts from presenters, posters, exhibitor resources, and more!

*Due to the limitations of a small-scale new pilot program, space is limited to 50 participants who must be registered for the Annual Meeting, and indicated an interest in participating, by April 1. The 50 attendees will be selected at random from among those who indicated interest to participate and notified by May 1. Selected attendees will be sent a form to indicate their preferred coaches.
